Metallographic Grinding
Grinding of a metallographic sample is performed in order to planarize the specimen and to transition the surface finish to a pre-polished condition.
CarbiPro Silicon Carbide Abrasive Paper:
SiC paper is the most common grinding medium for metallographic sample preparation. Available from 60 grit to 1200 grit, this product provides the largest range of abrasive options. Available in 8in,10in, and 12in diameter discs. PSA and Plain Back.
SiC rolls measure 3-7/16in wide on a 1in core.
Silicon Carbide Abrasive Paper Strips:
SiC strips measure 11in x 3in
PSA Backing
SiC and Zr Abrasive Belts:
Our abrasive belts are a great choice for applications requiring high material removal rates. Available in SiC or Zirconia abrasives.
Belts measure 4in x 36in
ZircPro Zirconia Grinding Cloth:
Designed for high-removal rates of the hardest materials. ZircPro Zirconia cloths provide a sharp, durable abrasive surface for the most challenging grinding applications.
Wet/Dry Applications
Available in 8in, 10in and 12in discs
60 and 120 grit (other grits available upon request)
Diamond Grinding Discs: Diamond Discs have become a favorable alternative to SiC grinding papers due to their longer lifespan. This is especially convenient at more course steps (125um/120 Grit and 75um/220 Grit).
